in my thoughts

A woman came to pick up her dog this afternoon. We weren't expecting to see her for another two days as she had plans to run a marathon. An illness in the family caused her to forfeit her participation. She left us this afternoon with her dog and our sympathy.

Just a few hours later, I would be reminded how blessed she truly was. She also left with her life.

Would love to give credit if anyone knows original source.

Situations like these stir so many emotions, reactions, even conflict. I don't want to talk conspiracy theories or discuss who is to blame. I want these people to know they are loved and thought of, and how sad I am to see their day and lives disrupted so.

As I watched footage after work, this was the scripture whispered from within. It may not be found consoling, but it is truth. May God be with you all.

"As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good in order to bring about this present result, to preserve many people alive." Gen. 50:20, New American Standard

*update* this song was on my heart as I went through today. We sang it at our church for a 9/11 memorial service. It is beautiful and still relevant.

  4. Wow...how blessed is she! One thing tragedies like this bring about is a sense of community and help for our fellow brother. Unfortunately it seems only in times like this, the nation comes together as a united front. Thanks for sharing Bekah!

  5. I'm sure this lady and her family were beyond relieved that she wasn't able to participate in the marathon. I appreciate the verse you posted... There are certainly times in our lives that we perceive as terrible, and yet God is using for good.
Thanks so much for the visit. I always appreciate your comments!
    Blessings to you ~ Mary
